The Brisbane Roar Football A-League Team landed safely in Gladstone yesterday and have already had their first training session at Marley Brown Oval earlier today. The Roar will be in town all week in preparation for their game against the Gladstone Select Team at Marley Brown Oval on 27 July at 3pm.
On Wednesday 17 July Gladstone City Council, Head Coach Mark Delaney and Captain Rob Singleton announced the Gladstone Select Team to play the Brisbane Roar at Marley Brown Oval on 27 July 2019.

The wait will soon be over for Gladstone Region’s football fans, with the Brisbane Roar coming to Gladstone for a pre-season exhibition match Saturday, 27 July at Marley Brown Oval. Eager fans will be able to see the A-league team in action as they play off against a Gladstone Select side.
Round 1 of the 2019 Intercity Shield in Blackwater sees children from Under 11 – 14 come together from the different centres across CQ to play against each other. This is a fantastic opportunity to bring the region together and the children to experience representative football.
The 2019 CQ Intercity dates and locations have been finalised as the Shield takes on a more rural fell this year. The Intercity Shield is a junior representative program involving games between Central Queensland regional areas of Rockhampton, Gladstone, Biloela & Districts, Emerald & Districts and Capricorn Coast in age groups Under 11 to Under 16.
The Westfield Matildas will head to France next month to take on the world’s best at the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup and to celebrate, Football Queensland (FQ) will be hosting Yeh The Girls Galas across the state!
