Football Central Queensland (known as Football CQ or simply FCQ) is the largest of 10 zones in Queensland operating under the banner of Football Queensland (FQ) to deliver and govern football and futsal from junior players through to seniors. The zone has been tasked with operating competitions in both Gladstone and Rockhampton since 2010 while working in partnerships with Competition Administrators in Biloela, Blackwater, Emerald, Longreach and on the Capricorn Coast.
Geographically the zone reaches south from Gladstone, north to Rockhampton, east to Yeppoon and west to Longreach. Most of the zone’s nearly 4000 participants (2016/2017 figures) play in competitions in the larger centres of Gladstone and Rockhampton. All centres operate their own independent stand alone competitions while senior clubs from Emerald, Gladstone, Rockhampton and Yeppoon participate in two divisions in the CQ Premier League. Competitive aged juniors and seniors from the Capricorn Coast Club play in Rockhampton competitions while the club hosts its own MiniRoos fixtures. Senior teams from the Valleys Club in Biloela participate in a Home and Away arrangement with Gladstone senior competitions. Competitions in Gladstone and Rockhampton are overseen from the Rockhampton head office in collaboration with FQ’s Competition Management Services based in Brisbane with a dedicated Venue Manager assisting in Gladstone from Gerald Mylne Park (Palm Drive).
In terms of governance, the zone will be supported from 1 August 2018 with a newly elected Zone Executive following the dissolution of its previous executive committee in early 2017.
The zone can be contacted via the links on the Contacts page.
