Football Central Queensland (CQ) has today opened expressions of interest for players and coaches wishing to participate in the 2020 Intercity Shield.
The Intercity Shield provides additional playing opportunities for junior players in CQ, with matches played between Rockhampton, Gladstone, Biloela, Central Highlands and Capricorn Coast in various age groups.
This year’s Intercity Shield matches will be played on 31 May and 14 June 2020.
Football CQ Operations Manager Kerry Gray said the Intercity Shield was a fantastic participation opportunity for young players.
“The Intercity Shield provides further football opportunities and experiences for the youth in our region,” Gray said.
“It is great to see all corners of our region enjoying a day of football together at this event each year.
“Additional football opportunities like the Intercity Shield really are invaluable for our young players in Central Queensland.”
TSP players will be unable to participate in the Intercity Shield due to attendance at alternative carnivals.
Expressions of interest for the 2020 Intercity Shield close on 13 March 2020.
